Francesco Umberto Gualtieri was born September 15, 1904 in Rovito Cosenza Italy. Francesco was the son of Salvatore and Rosina Bennardo Gualtieri. He died there on April 11, 1984.

He married Maria Francesca DeRose on March 25, 1928 in Lappano, CS, Italy. Francesca was born January 16, 1908 and died in November 21, 1970.

Francesco and Francesca Gualtieri did not have any childern.

NOTE: EllisIsland.org states that he traveled to the US on August 31, 1922 on Gugilierino Pierce at the age of 18. He was single and a shoemaker. His final destination was Nashwauk, Minnesota.
